CLEVELAND BASED NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED YOUTH GANG CRIME AND VIOLENCE EXPERT PART OF PANEL IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Peace in the Hood, Inc. co-founder and CEO, Amir El Hajj Khalid A. Samad, joined a panel of experts on education, violence and juvenile justice at the Annual Legislative Conference sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. The panel was part of Congressman Robert Scott (D) of Virginia’s issues forum entitled: “Real Gang Prevention: “The Youth P.R.O.M.I.S.E. Act.”
Joining Amir Samad on the panel were Mr. George Khaldun, Chief Administrative Officer, Harlem Children’s Zone; Mr. Ron Huberman, Chief Executive Officer, Chicago Public Schools; Mr. Bobby Kipper, Director, National Center for the Prevention of Community Violence; and Mr. Bart Lubow, Director of the Juvenile Justice Strategy Group, Annie E. Casey Foundation. Each speaker highlighted effective comprehensive programs to address the needs of youth. The Annual Legislative Conference was held in Washington, D.C. September 15-18, 2010 at the Washington Convention Center.
